Wound magnetic cores

Amorphous

ELESA rectangular amorphous magnetic cores are manufactured from iron-based metallic alloys with a disordered, non-crystalline atomic structure.

Their approximate composition is 85–95% iron (Fe), 1–5% boron (B) and 5–10% silicon (Si), with a magnetic saturation of 1.50 T and strip thicknesses of just a few tens of micrometres.

Key Features

Low
losses

Lower eddy-current losses, particularly beneficial when operating at higher frequencies.

High
permeability

Enables efficient magnetic flux conduction.

Thermal
stability

Maintains magnetic properties over a wide temperature range.

Low
noise

Improved acoustic performance at frequencies up to 3–4 kHz.

The cores can be supplied with an anti-corrosion paint finish which, in addition to improving their appearance, makes them easier to handle.
