These are wound cores of a single magnetic strip width on a round tool, which require an annealing process to re-orient the magnetic atoms in the material after the winding up process.
Toroidal uncut cores can be applied in many fields, such as lighting technology, measuring equipment such as voltmeters, ammeters, etc., instrument converters, voltage regulators, telecommunications equipment, and much more.
They can be insulated using polyamide covers (if there is a mould) and/or by covering them with epoxy powder.
Toroidal cut cores are used as reactors and especially in protection equipment against electrical faults, which require greater reliability in measurement to avoid the risk of core saturation. The required electrical and magnetic values depend on the number of cuts and the fine tuning of the air gap, and can bring the hysteresis curve down to its maximum. One of ELESA's specialties is to shape the core with the air gaps already placed in the core in order to fully meet its customers’ requirements.
