Our history

1988

Estanislao Pérez founded Elesa Transformadores S.A. for the design, manufacture and sales of transformers for resistance welding equipment in the automotive market.

1990

Two shareholders entered the company: Expert Maschinenbau GmbH and Serra Soldadura SAU, which jointly take on 75% of the capital.

1992

The design, manufacture and marketing of cores in magnetic materials was started for all types of industrial applications.

1998

ELESA, the national leader in medium-frequency transformers (1 kHz), a technology to which the market transitioned from alternating current.

2004

In 2004, ELESA had its first 1 kHz frequency transformer approved at the top welding institute, SLV DUISBURG, in Germany.

2005

Serra Soldadura SAU takes on 75% of the capital, after purchasing Expert's share.

2008

The Serra Group, including ELESA, is purchased in its entirety by the aerostructure company, Aernnova.

2010

Approval of 1 kHz (78KVA & 111KVA) medium-frequency transformers at VW (Konzernlastenheft:Roboterschweibzangen 14.01.2010)

2012

Development of cores in amorphous and nanocrystalline materials, both complete and cut, for high-frequency applications.

2013

Development of 10 kHz transformers to reduce size and energy consumption.

2018

Aernnova acquires 100% of ELESA's capital.

2019

Aernnova approves investment for a new construction plant at the Errotaberri – Zarautz industrial estate.
